FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: How do I know what length of lesson to choose?
A: Generally if the student is a beginner, no matter what age, child or adult, we recommend starting with a 30 minute lesson.
Q: How often should I take lessons?
A: Once a week is a good commitment to start with. If you find yourself practicing more and want to increase your repertoire faster, you can do two or three per week, treating the lesson more like a school class or college course.
Q: How should I choose a teacher?
A: Visit our "Teachers" page and view the teacher profiles. Or leave it blank and we'll choose the best teacher for you based on the other information you provide.
Q: Where do the lessons take place?
A: Because we are a collective of local teachers all around the bay area, the lesson place depends on the teacher. Our teachers work out fully equipped music practice studios, community centers, home studios, and some commute to be able to teach at the student's home. Feel free to ask when you submit the inquiry form.
Q: Do the students have the opportunity to perform?
A: Yes. We host annual recitals at a community center for students to have the opportunity to perform in front of their family and friends, and share what they've learned over the course of the year. Students also have the opportunity to perform in groups, sharing repertoire and developing a sound as a band.
Q: Do all teachers charge the same rates?
A: Yes. As a collective, our goal is to provide equal opportunity for all students and all teachers. Having set uniform rates allows a sense of balance and simplicity.
Q: Do you offer group lessons at a discounted rate?
A: Yes. The group lesson discount is 20% per student. Group size depends upon how many students the teacher is comfortable with teaching at one time. Standard group size ranges from 2-4 students per teacher.
