OUR BUSINESS MODEL
Redwood Music Academy is a teacher-run collective. This means that all of our teachers work together to develop the most inspiring musical education system we can possibly imagine. It also means that all of our teachers are paid 100% of what the school brings in, as we all share duties in running the academy. This is completely unique to music schools around the country, and provides a new opportunity for teachers to make a living wage .
OUR TEACHERS
All of our teachers are highly educated in music and are active performers in the Bay Area music scene. The education at Redwood Music Academy is based not only on academic study, but on experience working in the music business and being apart of a greater local arts community. Each teacher has their own specialty genres and expertise in music from different regions all around the world.
HOW IT WORKS
We operate in the original tradition of music teaching. Lessons are given in the home studio of the instructor, or the home of the student, based on convenience and accessibility. With all new students, we recommend a 30 minute lesson to start. This enables the student to get familiar with their instrument in a way that is less overwhelming, less of a practice load, and... more fun and approachable.
